There is a dreadful pressure that overcomes me when having to describe a process that for my whole life has been a process as natural & necessary to me as breathing. Rather than write in detail I’ll lay out the facts :
I would have had a far more difficult time existing as an artist without the encouragement and unquestionable support of my family and closest relationships
Being an artist is not a piece of my identity that I embrace half heartedly. I cannot fathom an existence where I didn’t have the ability to transform feeling into something tangible. So, I tend to my creativity with devotion, a hell of a lot of intention, and with wonder
Curiosity about mediums, my deep love for music & literature, the daily mundane observations and the fascinating ones are fuel for my work
I encourage you, whether you identify as an artist or not, to create frequently. It’s a sure shot way that by doing so that you’ll find ease, be able to understand what’s going on in your mind and heart, and trust it as a tool to hear & feel god.
Below are personal photos to see the faces that have believed in me and my work, muted my self doubt when it would eat me up, and what makes me, me. Included are film photographs that I have taken throughout the years, as it’s another creative means to highlight the beauty within and around us.
With love,
Jess Angelica
